Thinking of Moving?

If it looks like a move is in your future, be sure to arrange your move well ahead of time so there won't be any last-minute worries about leaving your apartment as well as your campus life.

Notice to Vacate

A minimum 30-day notice of your intent to vacate is required. Be sure to print out and complete the 30 Day Notice to Vacate Form at least 30 days prior to your move-out and return it to the Leasing Office. You will receive an Acknowledgement of Notice via mail.

Early Lease Termination

• If you are currently in a long-term lease and need to move out before your current lease expires, an early termination fee will apply. The early termination fee is equivalent to one month's rent. A minimum 30-day notice to vacate is required.
• If you are currently on a month-to-month option, an early termination fee is not applicable. A minimum 30-day notice to vacate is still required.

Moving to Other Stanford Rental Communities

Interested in moving to another Stanford rental community?

Visit the Faculty Staff Housing University-Owned Rental Communities page for a list of resources. The eligibility criteria and waiting list priority for each community may differ from Stanford West Apartments. Please check each community's webpage for additional information or visit the Rental Programs Eligibility Tool. Be sure to join the waiting list for the community(s) you are interested in as soon as possible.

If an apartment fitting your criteria comes available at another Stanford rental community, a leasing agent from the community will reach out to you via the email that you submitted in your waiting list form.

Once your application is reviewed and approved for your next community, please coordinate your move-out date with the Stanford West Apartments leasing office and your move-in date with your next community. When you are moving from Stanford West Apartments to another Stanford Rental Community, your move-in date at the new community must not exceed 48 hours from your move-out date at Stanford West Apartments.

If you are currently in a long-term lease at Stanford West Apartments and need to move out before your current lease expires, an early lease termination fee may apply.

Thinking of Upgrading?

If you would like to remain at Stanford West Apartments instead but are interested in upgrading to a larger apartment, you will have to submit an internal waiting list form to the Leasing Office. Please visit the Thinking of Upgrading page and reach out to the Leasing Office for more information.
