Affiliate Rate Eligibility
The following section outlines the eligibility criteria for the Affiliate Rate program. Additional rental programs may be available for qualifying Stanford faculty and staff. Please refer to the Rental Housing Programs Eligibility Tool for more information.
The following list outlines the priority ranking system. Stanford West Apartments is currently only renting to 1A thru 2B priorities.
1st Priority - Faculty & Eligible Staff*
1A
- University Tenure Line (UTL) Professors
- Non-Tenure Line (NTL) Professors (Research, Teaching, Performance, etc.)
- Senior Fellow Members of Academic Council at Special Policy Centers and Institutes
- Senior Fellows at the Hoover Institution
- N11 and N99 Staff
- University Medical Line (UML) Professors
- Clinician Educators (Professor (full), Associate Professor and Assistant Professor)
- Szego Professors
- Visiting Professors
- Acting, Adjunct, and Consulting Professors
1B
- Public Safety Officers employed by Stanford
1C
- Clinical Instructors in the Clinician Educator (CE) Line
- SLAC Staff Scientists and Senior Staff Scientists
- Other Staff employed by Stanford University or SLAC (includes Retired Faculty on Recalled Duty employed at least 75% FTE)
- Academic Postdoctoral Scholars employed by Stanford University
- Stanford Health Care Graduate Medical Education (SHC GME) Medical Residents
2nd Priority*
2A
- Stanford Health Care Employees and Fellows
2B
- Visiting Academics (includes Fellow, Researcher, Scholar, as well as visitors to the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences - CASBS - must be employed at least 75% FTE)
3rd Priority** (Market Rate Only)
3A
- Employed on Stanford Lands (includes Stanford Shopping Center, Welch Road, and Research Park)
3B
- Employees within the city limits of Palo Alto or Menlo Park, or individuals age 62 or older who live in either of the two cities.
4th Priority** (Market Rate Only)
- All other households who do not meet the above criteria.
* Qualifying Criteria: must be employed and working at least 30 hours per week (75% FTE) at or above the minimum wage during the entire lease term. Must be fully paid and employed by Stanford University or Stanford Health Care. Lease term cannot exceed duration of Qualifying Employment. The resident must occupy and maintain the Premises as his or her own principal place of residence.
**Currently your eligibility priority must fall within categories 1a thru 2b.
